The Burning Room (A Harry Bosch Novel) - Harry Bosch and his new partner Lucia Soto investigate the death of a man who was shot 10 years previously.  The ME determined that the bullet, lodged in the spine, cause his death.  Therefore, Bosch and Soto investigate the cold case of the shooting .  Meanwhile, Soto, has her own investigation.  When she was young, the building that housed her daycare center was torched.  Nine people died, most of them children.

The First Prophet (Bishop Files) - Noah Bishop, Unit Chief of the Special Crimes Unit of the FBI, begins "The Bishop Files" with the story of Sarah Gallagher.  Bishop has noticed several events that involve psychics and is reporting them in these files.  Sarah's story begins when she comes out of a coma with the ability to predict the future.  She meets Tucker Mackenzie when her house burns to the ground.  Although Tucker wants Sarah to tell him what happened to Lydia, he recognizes that Sarah is being hunted and vows to protect her.  As they are running and hiding, they realize that there is more than one group trying to find her; but, they have no idea who may be on their side, or if in fact anyone is out there to help them.
