The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts

Circle Trilogy although written as three books is really one long epic broken down into the romances of the three couples involved. Because of this the three books really need to be read as one because you are really left hanging at the end of books 1 and 2. The theme is the classic good vs. evil. The good are the humans, the bad being the vampires. The humans have the gods and goddesses on their side.

Morrigan's Cross – Sorcerer Hoyt MacCionaoith’s twin Cian is lured and turned by the evil vampire queen Lilith. After his attempt to destroy both Lilith and the demon his brother has now become, the goddess Morrigan charges with Hoyt gathering the Circle of Six, a sorcerer, a vampire, a witch, a shifter of shapes, a warrior, and a scholar, to lead the coming war against the Lilith and her vampires.

Dance of the Gods – Blair Murphy, demon hunter, is a 21st century woman and Larkin Riddock, shifter of shapes, is from Geall, another time and world. The Circle of Six travel back in time and from world to world, from Ireland to Geall. They begin to prepare the people of Geall for the coming battle with Lilith.

Valley of Silence – Moira, scholar and one of the Circle of Six, future Queen of Geall, decides that if she’s going to fight and possibly die, she wants to die a woman and breaks through Cian’s self control. Both going into and continue the relationship knowing that after the battle they will each live in their own world and times. The Circle of Six moves their army into position at the Valley of Silence for the battle on Samhain.
