Smash Cut: A Novel - Paul Wheeler is the CEO of Wheeler Enterprises, loved by everyone, especially Julie Rutledge. Julie is the owner of a successful art gallery and was in the elevator with Paul when he was fatally shot during an armed robbery. Derek Mitchell is a lawyer who was successfully seduced into the “mile high club” on his way home from Paris. Derek is asked to represent the family of Paul during the questioning that follows a homicide. He refuses, mainly because Creighton Wheeler is a jerk and accusing Julie, with whom Derek wants to spend time. Julie in turn is accusing Creighton of the crime.
