Candy Cane Murder - This book includes three short stories. The first by Joanne Fluke features Hannah Swensen. Wayne Bergstrom, the owner of the local department store, Bergstrom had played Santa Claus and taken the remaining candy canes to sell at his store.  Knowing this, Hannah followed a trail of candy canes from the center thinking there was a hole in his pocket.  What she found was Bergstrom's body in the snow.

"The Dangers of Candy Canes" features Laura Levine's Jaine Austen. A wealthy man fell from his roof while decorating for the annual Christmas display contest.  His widow and others blame the roofer who had just finished the new roof.

In "Candy Canes of Christmas Past" Leslie Meier recounts the first mystery solved by Lucy Stone.  Lucy and her husband, Bill, have recently moved to town with their young boy.  Lucy meets the librarian, Miss Tilley, who tells Lucy about her own mother's death by falling down the basement stairs. Miss Tilley never believed it was an accident and Lucy decides to investigate.
