Dust by Patricia Cornwell
Dust (A Scarpetta Novel)
- Kay Scarpetta is called in the early morning to the site of a body dump. The murdered girl, Gail Shipman, was suing her financial managers for millions of dollars. Her body is draped in a white cloth and her face is covered with iridescent dust unseen by the naked eye. Most believe this is the reason for her death, however, Scarpetta's husband, FBI profiler, Benton Wesley is working a serial murder case in Washington, DC that appears to relate to her case. Meanwhile, Wesley's boss, Ed Granby, is doing his best to oust Wesley from the FBI. Furthermore, someone is hindering the investigation into both cases.
