A Time for Patriots: A Novel - The year is 2013 and retired Air Force Lieutenant-General Patrick McLanahan is residing at Joint Air Base Battle Mountain.  Because of budget cutbacks, the Air Base has been reduced to skeleton personnel. McLanahan is running a caretaking force until the economy recovers and the base is mad operational again.  Meanwhile he also volunteers with the local Civil Air Patrol (CAP) with his son, Brad McLanahan.  While they are out on a CAP mission, terrorists fly a dirty bomb into a federal building in downtown Phoenix.
