The Language of Flowers: A Novel
- A product of the foster-care system, Victoria grows up without a family. At her last foster home, she learns the meanings of flowers with Elizabeth. Elizabeth has family issues of her own. At the age of 18, Victoria is emancipated and lives the streets until she is employed at a flower shop. As she learns the business her reputation grows and she becomes friends with a man related to Elizabeth.
