Meanwhile, back in Paradise, a teenage boy and his girlfriend are attacked. The girl is murdered and the boy is kidnapped. When Jesse returns to Paradise to investigate, he learns that somehow his old friend Vic is involved as well as his new lover Dee.

Strode and his wife, Catherine, disappear. However, Strode is later found, beaten and left for dead, on the porch of a local whorehouse. Cole and Hitch find themselves looking for the robbers and kidnappers. Meanwhile, Vasquez, tells Cole and Hitch that he knows the robbers and where they are going, but will only exchange the information for a deal, and that the only way to get to the place is to personally show them the way.

- Lutheran minister from Mankato, Minnesota, Elijah Jones, a dying man, steals an artifact (a stele) from an Israeli dig. As he makes his escape, he leaves an easy to follow trail. Back home in Minnesota, Virgil Flowers is following Ma Nobles and her sons who sell counterfeit barn lumber. When the Israelis send Yael Aronov to the States to retrieve the stele, Lucas Davenport tasks Virgil to assist her in apprehending Jones and returning the the stele to Israel. Of course, it is not that simple, as it turns out, Jones plans on selling the stele, and several groups of people are trying to obtain the artifact by whatever means they can.

- The fight for the Iron Throne on Westeros continues as Cersei struggles to control those who would advise her. The Iron Islands hold a kingsmoot to choose their next king. Brienne searches for Sansa Stark to fulfill her vow to Catelyn Stark. As commander of the Wall Jon Snow orders Samwell Tarly to the Citadel in Oldtown to become a Maester. Samwell is to take the wildling Gilly and her baby as well as Maester Aemon. Jaime continues to come to terms with the loss of his hand as well as his sister as Queen Regent. Sansa continues to live as the natural born daughter of Petyr Baelish. Arya is in Braavosi. In Dorne, Doran Martell endeavors to bolster his own position as prince.

Pitt suspects a publicity stunt until the two women are found dead in a house owned by Delacruz's brother. Then Pitt receives a most unusual ransom demand from the kidnapper.
