Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Gone Girl: A Novel - Nick Dunne's wife, Amy, disappears on their fifth anniversary.  The story, told by Nick as well as Amy's diary slowly reveals a marriage that had slowly dissolved since its inception. The police investigation continues to point to Nick as the perpetrator of a faked kidnapping. As he follows Amy's clues for their Anniversary Treasure Hunt, he learns that Amy knew him better than he knew himself; and he realizes that in order to find her abductor, he has to take action himself.

Nights of Rain and Stars - A tourist boat explodes in a small Greek village.  Several people from around the world are in the village for extended stays.  Elsa, a German reporter is running from a lousy relationship.  Andreas, the owner of a tavern in the village, regrets an argument that alienated his son.  Fiona and Shane are from Ireland; Fiona ran away from her family because she believes that Shane loves her and nobody understands him.  David, from England, is the only son of a successful businessman who wants him to take over the business, which David hates.  Thomas is from California, USA; he believes that a year away will give his son, Bill, time to adjust to his new life with his mother and step-father.  And finally, Vonni, the Irish girl who settled in the village and takes care of everyone.

Storm Front by Richard Castle

Storm Front (Derrick Storm) -  Storm Front drops us in the middle of the Derrick Storm saga.  Since, Castle has been writing this series long before ABC began the TV series.  In this story, Storm has been hired by Jedidiah Jones, head of the National Clandestine Services, to investigate the deaths of several bankers in different countries.  Apparently, an old nemesis Gregor Volkov is behind the deaths  As he hooks up covertly with a Chinese agent, his old flame Clara Strike is investigating Graham Whitely Cracker V for embezzlement.

Frozen Heat (Nikki Heat) - A woman is found frozen in a suitcase in a freezer truck.  When Nikki connects it to her mother's death ten years prior, she believes that solving one will solve the other.  She and her crew not only work the Jane Doe but also dig deeper into the cold case her mother's murder. As Nikki learns more about her mother, she goes to Paris, meets secret operatives, and finally learns about her mother's secret past.
